Marie Curie Cancer Care is delighted to announce a one-year charity partnership with Auntie Anne’s, an international pretzel company who have been sharing their passion for pretzels across the UK since 2003.
Auntie Anne’s is aiming to raise £19,000, the amount it costs to fund a Marie Curie Nurse for a whole year.
Throughout the partnership various fundraising activities will be taking place in Auntie Anne’s stores across the UK. All funds raised will allow Marie Curie Nurses to provide more free care to people with terminal illnesses in their own homes and in Marie Curie’s nine hospices.
Dr Jane Collins, Chief Executive of Marie Curie Cancer Care, said: “We are delighted to be chosen as Auntie Anne’s new charity partner. The partnership will raise crucial funds that will allow Marie Curie Nurses to provide more care to terminally ill people throughout the country. We’re excited to work together with Auntie Anne’s to help provide valuable support to our services users and their families when they need it the most.”
Robert Burton, Managing Director for Auntie Anne’s, said: “On behalf of our network, I am very pleased to announce our new partnership with Marie Curie. We are very much looking forward to raising money for such a worthwhile cause. Every one of us is touched in some small way by Marie Curie, and we are really excited to contribute to the work that they do. We are especially encouraged that, if we reach our target of £19,000, we will be funding a nurse for an entire year – you rock, we roll!”
Last year alone, Marie Curie Nurses provided care for more than 39,000 terminally ill patients across the UK and emotional support for their families.
